With the fourth edition of Futures Forum taking place this Friday, the final part of the programme can now be revealed.
This year’s conference sees the return of the Soapbox Sessions, a series of 15-minute TED Talk-style presentations on bite-size topics.
Kicking off the morning tranche of sessions is Taylor Swift and the Rise of the Concert Film hosted by Marc Allenby from Trafalgar Releasing, the firm behind multiple record-breaking global releases from artists including BTS, Beyonce, Coldplay, Metallica, ABBA and Swift. Allenby will discuss release strategies and business structures in this emerging industry.
Dreamland: It’s All Swings and Roundabouts will see James Penfold discuss the storied music history of the UK amusement park, which has hosted game-changing concerts with the likes of Tom Jones, Status Quo, The Who, Slade and more.
Earth Aid Live: Building on a Legacy will see legendary promoter Harvey Goldsmith give delegates a preview of his “revolutionary” new concert series, Earth Aid Live, which takes place 40 years after his iconic Live Aid concerts.
Petok Productions: A Spotlight on Inclusivity Backstage will invite Pembe Tokluhan to discuss how her production company, Petok Productions, is paving the way for women, transgender and non-binary people working behind the scenes.
Unlocking Fan Engagement with Data, Sponsorships, and Fan-First Technology will see Ira Akers (CUE Audio) share his insights on working with professional sports teams and how to apply that knowledge in the festival space.
Hype Up Your Tour on Social Media will see Olivia Hobbs and Robyn Elton from Blackstar Agency, a specialist marketing, digital and creative agency for the music industry, give a social media masterclass for artist teams.
Soapbox Sessions take place between 11:30–12:30 and 14:00–15:00 on Friday 1 March at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. Full descriptions and timings can be found here.
