As 2024 draws to a close, the ILMC Futures Forum team wanted to look back and catalogue the accomplishments of this year.

Before launching our fourth one-day conference, we set out to build a community beyond the single day of the year we spent together. Since, we’ve hosted three educational networking events and expanded our newsletter, chronicling community achievements and relevant news updates.

In addition to launching a digital community, we set out to bring everyone together in person. Supported by AEG, AXS, and ASM Global, we designed and executed three free events to keep conversations going throughout the year.

This began last October with our 2024 launch party at London’s Oslo. The sold-out gathering brought together dozens of emerging professionals, expanding networks and incubating ideas for Futures Forum 2024.

The fourth edition of the annual conference took place in March on the final day of our parent event, the International Live Music Conference. With a blockbuster schedule rounded off with a keynote session from Team Kilimanjaro Live, the day was a smash hit. Our fifth edition is set for Friday 28 February 2025, with tickets now on sale.

In May, we joined forces with the Music Managers Forum (MMF) to organise conversations on artist development at The Garage in London. The hosted debate and networking event brought together emerging live executives and managers to swap wisdom and share takeaways from working in a changing market.

And in September, we paired up with industry trade body LIVE at 229 to host a series of Soapbox Sessions, with six industry pioneers — Yasmin Galletti (We Are The Fair), John Drury (OVO Arena Wembley), Dr. Charisse Beaumont (Black Lives in Music), Craig Stanley (Marshall Arts), Carol Scott (Tait), and Jon Collins (LIVE) — sharing essential knowledge for several industry sectors.

All the while, our monthly community newsletter has served as a platform for emerging leaders in the business.

We’ve chronicled people’s paths, from Mighty Hoopla‘s Jamie Tagg to ATC Live‘s Cils Williams to Friendly Fire‘s Anouk Ganpatsing to Fullsteam Agency/FKP Scorpio‘s Rauha Kyrrö. We’re now two volumes deep into Now That’s What I Call newsletter expansion, platforming rising artists from some people who are making it happen.

Along the way, we’ve spoken with Saskhia Menendez about the importance of a trans charter for the industry and Runway Artists’ Matt Hanner about who’s shaping pop culture.

All of this to say, we’ve had a fantastically busy and rewarding year hosting topical conversations, and we’re looking forward to translating that into our fifth edition. Though future auxiliary events are on the back burner, passes for ILMC Futures Forum 2025 are now available (with an option for team discounts), and signups for our newsletter are free as always.

If there’s anything you’d like to discuss or see us discuss, please reach out at futuresforum@ilmc.com.

Happy holidays & cheers to a new year!
